My Story
It all began with curiosity.
I was born and raised in North Vancouver — the ancestral territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I remember having a deep curiosity for the workings of the human body from a young age. At 10 years old, I used to pour over books of human anatomy with intense fascination.
It grew into a passion.
In early adulthood, during a year-long volunteer practicum in Bewdley, England, I discovered an ability to use massage therapy in order to soothe palliative patients. This led to pursuing a formal education and I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2005. However, I left school wanting to understand how the body worked as a whole, interconnected system.
I continued my learning with many courses over several years.
In 2009, I extended my training with Natale Roa, RMT, and his series of courses using Fascial, Visceral and Craniosacral Therapy techniques. This refined my knowledge of how to assess and treat the body from a holistic perspective and work with the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
I’ve explored many aspects of my profession.
Over the years, I have been a Clinic Supervisor and Teacher’s Assistant for basic training Craniosacral, commuted to Vancouver to teach basic level fascial and cranial techniques, and have done mentorships in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
I continue to grow and explore.
There is always more to learn, so I take courses in Fascial, Visceral Manipulation, Craniosacral Therapy and scar tissue release techniques, as well as stay abreast of new research exploring why and how the Fascia and Neuro systems work. I am starting to explore more information on trauma and its impacts on the body.
Today, I am thankful to live and work on the unceded Xwsepsum (Esquimalt), Lekwungen (Songhees) and Sc’ianew territories at two different health clinics.
My approach to massage therapy is holistic, intuitive, passionate and committed.
It is important to me to find and address the source of the issue, along with the symptoms. Looking at the whole body and the way it has been compensating over the years allows me to address the root causes and reset your body to pain-free living.
